Why OODAx

Thanks for stopping by and learning about OODAx. OODAx was born from our founder's experience with the bureaucracy of programmatics, requirements, and acquisitions while on active duty and then similar experiences in the commercial industry. After three years in Amazon Operations, our founder helped launch AWS Mission Engineering and found himself right back in "the horns of a dilemma." At AWS, our remit was to accelerate delivery of critical technology for the warfighter in combatant commands and while ambitious, our goals may have been more aggressive than the bureaucracy was ready for. Since 2022, our founder has supported commercial programs with AWS and small businesses to accelerate the delivery of critical technologies to the edge. Our founder and team lived the pain of accelerating critical technology in both uniform and as a member of commercial industry.

The OODAx Story

The Concept of Colonel Boyd's "Horns of a Dilemma," is foundational in understanding the OODA LOOP (Observe, Orient, Decide, Act) and it is foundational in understanding why OODAx exists. At OODAx, we aim to help our clients Observe, Orient, Decide and Act faster and achieve their objective (X) faster than otherwise possible. OODAx leverages deep understanding of market dynamics and how to hack bureaucracies to accelerate sales for our clients. OODAx's approach of working backwards from the warfighter's pain points works. In DoW sales, product-market fit becomes product-mission-system fit to solve a mission problem and integrate the product with legacy products. Legacy systems integrators failed in the past because they placed the importance of their work in Washington, D.C. over their work with the warfighter. Companies like Anduril and Palantir succeed because their North Star is solving warfighter pain points.

OODAx was founded in November 2024 to align our clients to solve warfighter pain-points. Our founder lived the pain of having the wrong gear and technology during combat operations while on active duty as an infantry officer in the Marine Corps. While on active duty from 2009-2011, our founder stood up a new program. Commercially, our founder helped launch the AWS’ Mission Engineering program to hack the bureaucracies of a myriad of commands and accelerate delivery of critical capabilities to our warfighters. The work that needs to be done to accelerate sales to the DoD often includes engagement plans with the warfighter, the program offices with budget authority, the senior leaders that care about solving problems, and all in alignment with the client's leadership team. The success of the AWS Mission Engineering experience and the work with small companies solving edge problems is replicable, as evidenced by the success of OODAx's clients.

Our Fee

Simple. Clients can start with retained or ad hoc hours charged at the same hourly rates. Commissions are flat, lowest in the industry and can be paid in cash or equity after winning a contract.
